Refund and Returns Policy

Thank you for shopping at Border Boots. We stand behind the quality of our boots and want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase.
Returns & Refunds
You have 30 days from the date of delivery to return your item for a refund.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it:
- It must be unworn, with no signs of wear on the soles or any part of the boot.
- It must be in the original packaging (e.g., the shoebox).
- All original tags must be attached.
Fit Evaluation Tip: We strongly recommend evaluating the fit of your new boots by walking only on a clean, carpeted surface until you are sure you want to keep them.
Quality Assurance & Pre-Shipment Documentation
To ensure transparency and maintain our quality standards:
- Every pair of boots is thoroughly inspected before shipment.
- We document the condition and unique factory identification numbers (found on both the boot interior and original packaging).
- This pre-shipment documentation is maintained for our internal quality control and inventory management.
Important: Returns will be cross-referenced against this documentation. We can only accept returns that match the original factory identification numbers and meet our return condition requirements.
Fraud Prevention Notice
Each pair of boots has unique factory identification numbers. Returns are verified against these numbers and our pre-shipment documentation. Attempting to return items that do not match our records constitutes fraud and will be handled accordingly, including potential legal action and reporting to relevant authorities.
Out of Stock Items / Fulfillment Issues
We strive to maintain accurate inventory. In the rare event that an item you ordered is temporarily out of stock, we will promptly notify you via email.
You will have two options:
- Wait for Restocking: You can choose to wait for the item to be restocked.
- Immediate Refund: You may choose to receive a full and immediate refund.
Return Process
- Contact us via our Contact Us page to request a Return Authorization.
- Once approved, ship your return to the address we provide.
- Return shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility, unless the return is due to our error.
- Customers are responsible for purchasing their own return shipping label.
Restocking Fee & Shipping
A 20% restocking fee applies to all authorized returns. This fee covers payment processing, inspection, and restocking costs.
Shipping Details:
- Original outbound shipping (which we provide for free) represents a cost to us and is non-refundable.
- Return shipping back to us is the customer’s responsibility, unless the return is due to our error (wrong item shipped, defective product, etc.).
Refund Amount Calculation
For an eligible return, you will receive:
Refund = (Purchase Price) – (20% Restocking Fee)
Note: While we provide free outbound shipping, this represents a cost we incur and is not refundable as part of the return process.
Understanding Our Free Shipping & Returns
We offer free shipping on all orders as a customer benefit. However, when we ship your order, we pay the carrier directly. If you return an item, we cannot recover this shipping cost, which is why it’s not included in refunds. The restocking fee helps cover this and other processing costs while keeping our upfront shipping free for all customers.
Unauthorized or Non-Compliant Returns
If a return shipment is received without prior authorization, or if the returned items do not meet our return conditions (see “Returns & Refunds” above), we will proceed as follows:
- Immediate Notification: We will contact you within 3 business days with photographic evidence of the issue.
- Return Options: You will have 14 days from notification to choose one of the following options:
- Option A: Retrieve Items – You may arrange for the items to be shipped back to you at your expense. You will need to purchase and email us a prepaid return shipping label.
- Option B: Inspection & Potential Refusal – For items that appear to be different from what we shipped (based on factory identification numbers) or are clearly damaged/worn, we reserve the right to refuse the return entirely.
- No Response / No Label Provided: If we do not receive your choice and a prepaid return shipping label within 14 days, the items will be considered abandoned. We will not issue any refund and will dispose of the items at our discretion without further notice.
Important Note: We do not sell, resell, or donate returned items that do not meet our “new, unworn” condition standards, in accordance with our commitment to quality and customer safety.
Non-Returnable Items
- Damaged, worn, or altered boots
- Boots without original packaging and tags
- Boots that do not match our factory identification records
- Discounted, clearance, or promotional items (FINAL SALE)
Refund Processing
After we receive and inspect your return, we will process your refund within 7 business days. The refund will be issued to your original payment method.
Please note: Depending on your financial institution, it may take 2-10 additional business days for the refund to appear in your account.
